Hi my husband and I had the chance to stay at the Alamo Motel
the first weekend in May 2009. We loved it, Dave and Debbie were so nice.
And they welcomed our two pets Little Bit and Minnie. Which most places in
Maggie Valley are not pet friendly, but they made us feel right at home
with our two dogs. We didnt bring a doggie crate and we decided to run out
and get us something to eat so Dave nicely offered us a crate to borrow so
our dogs wouldnt have to go and sit in the car, when it came to our pets
he wanted them to be as comfortable as we were. We talked with Dave
more than Debbie and he was so nice, he made us feel like we had known him
forever. And for Debbie she was really nice when we did get to talk with
her. We stayed in the motel part we didnt rent a cottage but we do plan to
return when we get a chance and get a cottage for a whole week.
Dave told us of a waterfall going across Soco Mountain towards
Cherokee, I have been coming here since I was a child and have never seen
this waterfall. It was raining when we were here but on our way to
Cherokee we just had to stop and see the beauty that Dave told us about.
And it was beautiful, the sound of the water was beautiful hitting the
rocks. I have enclosed some pictures of our trip, the first few are of the
Motel and some of the Llamas that we saw out back behind the creek. And I
am enclosing some of the waterfall that Dave so kindly told us about and
more of the Cherokee area.
We had a wounderful time
and we loved it, the owners were so nice. We will return Dave and Debbie
but we want a cottage for a week. I think that we would just get lost in
the sounds that we would hear from the creek behind the cottages. You have
a wounderful place to stay in the Smokey Mountains. And the hospitality
that you guys showed us could not be better.
Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!
